Part of the roof has been blown away by rain storms over the years, whiles the wood panels used for the roofing are becoming rotten and are therefore decaying. 1. Moringa Cultivation for Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection

The Moringa Cultivation for Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection  Project (MSDEPP) envisages    to promote  the   cultivation, processing and  consumption of  Moringa in  Santrokofi- Traditional Area in the Volta Region  of Ghana. The project  will  also undertake tree planting exercises to restore the  unique mountain ecosystem that has been depleted as a result of  unregulated exploitation of natural resources to satisfy socio-economic needs .The project  shall enhance the quality of life of the people, create employment,  increase food production  and  reduce  malnutrition  and  raise  the general  standard  of living  in the communities.

All indications are that Moringa offers a great potential benefit for the economy, especially as its production and use could create employment and wealth and help reduce the health burden and poverty in Ghana.  Shape Lives Foundation considers Moringa as the “Green Gold” of Ghana and believes that an adequate production and consumption of Moringa products in Ghana could to a large extent contribute substantially to addressing the country’s nutrition, health and employment needs. Under this project, a Moringa cottage industry  would   be established for processing  moringa  into various products like leaf powder, oil and  seed cake   for local consumption and export. The communities shall also  be   enlightened   on scientifically supported discoveries about Moringa in order to harmonize traditional habits of using Moringa with new ways of maximizing derivable benefits from the Miracle tree- Moringa.

2.Computer Training Programme For Economically Backward  Women

In this day and age, the benefits of being computer literate are enormous. One reaps the benefits of information, business and various aspects of social and academic education through this, now ubiquitous, tool. Translate this to a rural setting in Ghana  and the effect is staggering. Slowly and steadily, a revolution is taking place empowering people in remote areas with access to information and ingenious ways of problem solving which were hitherto inaccessible.  Our project Computer “Training Programme For Economically Backward Women\"  is  a new project designed  by  our  organization  to help  women  in  the Santrokofi-Bume to acquire computers skills.  Information Communication Technology  (ICT ) is a key contributor to our community   productivity and competitiveness and it is vital that  we train  and  encourage more women to consider ICT related careers. Moreover, we need to promote the challenging and exciting opportunities offered in these fast moving technology sectors.   In this regards  our  program  is  designed  to  train  these poor women   to  have  basic  computer  skills. Under  the  project  we  shall  established  a computer  resource centre  where  women can  have  access  to computer services  and internet.
