- Volunteer in Orphanages
Overview of the Project
Extreme
poverty, growing problems of HIV/AIDS, and different social problems
make many kids orphans in Ghana. These lovely kids are in urgent need
of parental help and support. In Ghana , Shape Lives Foundation, does
support many orphanages through its programs to continue providing
the much needed care for the orphans. Unfortunately, most of these
orphanages are resource poor, under staffed, and are facing lots of
problems to run their programs. Help is needed in everything from
cooking and serving food to the children, to assisting with their basic
education with sports and English lessons.
Role of Volunteer
The
main responsibility of a volunteer at any of the orphanages is to spend
time with the children and give them the attention and love they need.
Volunteers will organize games and activities for the children and can
help teach in the schools associated with the orphanage.
Working in an
orphanage requires motivation, energy, patience, and resourcefulness.
Skills/Qualifications Needed
There
are no specific qualifications required for the orphanage project in
Ghana . However, volunteers interested to work for orphans must have
love for the kids and willingness to share their time and compassion
with patience and high flexibility.
If you are interested in any of the above projects, please email or call us.
